I’M GETTING BIGGER! I’M GETTING BETTER!

Several months ago, Achiya distributed sets of Yiddish books to all preschools participating in its innovative Laparation for the upcoming holiday of Shavuos.  Each child has his own “mountain,” which he decorates with paper flowers that he receives as prizes for his good deeds. And as the children attach the flowers to their mountains, they enthusiastically sing a song from the book, “I’m getting bigger, I’m getting bigger. Every day, I’m better and bigger.”

 

 

“What impressed me the most,” added R’ Shlomo, “was the teacher’s obvious delight as he described the children’s enthusiasm. Even though I am no longer working with this particular teacher, he continues to hone his teaching skills, much to the children’s benefit.”
