Representatives from the American Embassy visit Achiya

Cultural Attaché, Michele Dastin van-Rijn, and Cultural Specialist, Risa Levy, visited the U.S. Embassy funded English Enrichment Program for ultra-Orthodox male teachers studying at Achiya’s Teachers’ Training College. The teachers-in-training learn basic ESL skills while learning about life in the United States. For man of the students, this course is a stepping stone for the continued academic education. Others will become English language instructors in the Orthodox school system.
A key element in the Embassy’s outreach is to expand cooperation with the ultra-orthodox (Haredi) community.

Achiya would like to welcome Sarah Gonzales as the new Cultural Affairs Attaché, and thank Michelle Dastin van-Rijn for visiting Achiya shortly before concluding her term as Cultural Affairs Attaché to Israel.
