The Achiya Hydrotherapy Center

Achiya’s Hydrotherapy Center consists of:
- 969 sq. feet pool for older children and adults
- 215 sq. feet shallow pool for the younger children
- Hydraulic lift for severely disabled children and adults
- 2 dressing rooms
- Observatory for parents and caretakers
- Emergency medical center
- Faculty dressing area
- a staff of 22 professional hydrotherapists
Ms. Maya Sarig, B.P.T. and graduate of Wingate’s Hydrotherapy Training Program is in charge of hiring and training the staff. She explains, “Achiya is known for its high level of professionalism, which is why all our therapists have a minimum of ten years of experience working with disabled children. One of the greatest perks of being associated with Achiya is that we have full access to the large range of on-staff para-medical professionals at the Achiya Developmental Center.”
Achiya’s Hydrotherapy Center is designed to meet the unique needs of the Haredi community, including
- Full separation between males and females
- Fully accessible to adults and children with all levels of disabilities
Hydrotherapy helps:
- Children with various grades of motor disabilities, including CP, spinal bifida, birth defects and muscular dystrophy.
- Children with developmental delays.
- Improve balance, stability, coordination.
- Improve the motor function and alleviate the pain of rheumatism, fibromyalgia, degenerative diseases, back pain and more.
- People with heart/lung disease through medically supervised water aerobics.
